Bateaux Bay

On the windward coast of Tobago, where the Atlantic meets the Caribbean is the beautiful Bateaux Bay, which is sheltered by coral reefs and islands.

It’s home to the upmarket Blue Waters Inn which is built on the sand itself.

In fact, the beach is a public beach and the hotel is an excellent  spot for a meal or drink overlooking the bay.

The steep drive down to Bateaux Bay passes  forest on the left.

There’s a nature trail which passes around the top of the bay eventually emerging at a beautiful and deserted beach.

The hotel will give you information about the trail, and can arrange glass bottom boat trips to Little Tobago, Speyside reefs  and Goat Island.
