Tyrell’s Bay
There are plenty of places to stay in Tyrell’s Bay and you can walk to this busy fishing village of Speyside from The Blue Waters Hotel.
There’s a mile long beach, where the waves are rougher, because you’re now on the Atlantic side of the island.
But the bay is great for diving and the village has diving shops and a few hotels. It’s also home to the famous Jemma’s Seaview Kitchen.
With dining areas on several levels built around the boughs of a huge tree, Jemma’s offers tasty Creole food, and you get great views of the bay where you can watch brown pelicans diving for food. It’s worth noting the restaurant gets busy, and doesn’t serve alcohol.
Out at sea you can spot Goat Island, where Ian Fleming is thought to have lived in the windswept white house and, slightly further away, Little Tobago.
